What is 10 BASE 2?

Also known as cheapernet and thin Ethernet, it is adaptation of the Ethernet standard IEEE 802.3 for Local Area Networks. It consists of 50 ohm coaxial cable (RG-58 A/U) with maximum lengths of 185 meters that operates at 10 Mbps and uses baseband transmission methods. Cables connect with BNC connectors.
