Physiological changes in the human body as a result of rapid increase of speed. Rapid accelerations are more stressful than gradual changes of speed. Acceleration forces are measured in units of gravitational acceleration (g). There are three types of acceleration stress, depending on the position of the body in reference to the direction of acceleration: positive, negative and transverse.

ACCELERATION STRESS: "Acceleration Stress is stress which human body undergoes when it is exposed to abrupt changes in speed and acceleration."
