What is AMORPHOUS POLYMERS?

Polymer chains in materials with chain irregularity so they can't crystallize or they have cooled to quickly once they have been melted so crystallization is inhibited. Amorphous is what polystyrene is due to its chains being atactic whereas polyethylene terephthalate cools at a high rate so its film is amorphous. Use this term with care, as not all polymers are non-crystalline some of their characteristics have a micro-structure.

AMORPHOUS POLYMERS: "Amorphous polymers are made up of chains that can't crystallize because of their irregularity."
