What is AMPERE?

The electrical unit of current SI, if the current is maintained in two conductors which are of infinite length and parallel and placed in a vacuum at 1m apart the conductors will produce an equal force to 2 x 10 ~7N M-1. It is a fundamental unit of SI. Symbol A. See SI units
