What is ASTEROIDEA?

A class of animals in the phylum echinodermata that includes starfish (sea stars). There are 1,800 living species that can be found in all oceans of the world, from the coastal area to the depths greater than 6,000 m. They have a central disc and five arms; they are opportunistic feeders.
