What is CAESIUM?

US: Cesium. Atomic element 55, symbolized Cs, weighing 132.9 g/mol, melting at 28.6 C. An uncommon element in the earth's crust amounting to 2-60ppm, this element is extremely soft and forms magmatic crystals and pollucite. Radioactive Cesium has been sought for medical treatments, and the 133 MW isotope carries a resonance frequency off of which time measurement can be based. Infrared photosentivity at 800 nm lends to high thermal and photo emission, often alloyed with gallium, indium, antimony, and thorium.
