What is FORSSMAN ANTIBODY?

A glycolipid antigen present on tissue cells of many species, and on the red cells of some species such as sheep. Forssman antibody may be elicited by immunization with the antigen, but often present as a natural antibody in humans. Sheep red cells coated with Forssman antibody are used in complement fixation tests,
