What is FREE-FLIGHT WIND TUNNEL?

1 A wind tunnel, usually of up-draught type, wherein the model is not mounted on a support, but flies freely. 2 One in which three pilots each control one axis of a free-flying model, as used by NASA in the large Ames 80 ft tunnel. 3 Ballistic shape fired into airflow of a wind tunnel for shock wave or re-entry experiments.
