What is GAMMA RADIATION?

Electromagnetic radiation of high quantum energy emitted after nuclear reactions or by radioactive atoms when nucleus is left in excited state after emission of an alpha or beta particle. In medicine this is the commonest form of radionuclide emission in patient imaging.
