What is INTEGRINS?

Family of heterodimeric proteins found in the surface membranes of a wide variety of cells. These proteins are involved in cell-cell adhesion and in the adhesion of cells to extracellular matrix components. Cells of the immune system express a subset of integrins, the leucocyte integrins.
