A growth factor for T-lymphocytes made by T-lymphocytes which have been activated by IL-I and a mitogenic agent such as concanavalin A or a specific antigen. It binds to specific receptors on the same or other T- cells and is thus able to maintain a population of T-cells in continuous growth and differential. Abbrev IL-2.
