What is INTERLEUKIN-6?

A factor produced by T-lymphocytes, monocytes/macrophages, fibroblasts, hepatocytes. Induces growth and differentiation of T- and B-lymphocytes, hepatocytes, keratinocytes and nerve cells. Stimulates the production of acute phase proteins by the liver. Abbrev IL-6.
