A physical disability with no apparent organic cause. It is a form of psychoneurosis which can present with sensory or motor dysfunction, ie blindness, paralysis, loss of speech or even fits. Direct confrontation often leads to rapid recovery of the physical presentation but may then re-present with another physical disability.
