A type of star showing irregular variability prototype T Tauri, with a spectrum dominated by strong emission lines due to a powerful stellar wind. Occurs in groups, usually embedded in clouds of gas and dust, and is thought to represent one of the early evolutionary stages of a star of similar mass to the Sun.
Antibody present in the blood of normal persons which agglutinates erythrocytes which have been incubated with neuraminidase or acted on by bacteria which produce the enzyme. This reveals the T- antigen present on erythrocytes but not normally available to react with antibody. The stimulus to production of the antibody may be effete erythrocytes,
One comprising a top conductor with a vertical downlead attached at the centre: much used for long waves.
A group of surface antigens defining subpopulations of human T-lymphocytes. Many of these have been defined using monoclonal antibodies and are classified in the CD system. Corresponding antigens have been identified on mouse, rat and bovine T-lymphocytes, and will presumably be found in any species studied sufficiently intensively,
One comprising three resistors, one end of each being connected together. The free ends of two are connected respectively to an input and an output terminal while the free end of the third is connected to the common input and output terminals,
A beam forming part of the construction of a reinforced concrete floor; regarded as being composed of the beam part projecting below the floor slab, and portions of the floor slab on both sides, the whole having the form of a letter T.
A clamping bolt having a head in the form of a short rectangular cross-piece, and sliding in slots in a machine tool table cut in the shape of an inverted T. Access is provided by wells cast or machined near the ends of the table.
Sequence of amino acids in a protein which can be recognized by a T-cell receptor.
