A particle that mediates the weak interaction; symbol Z; mass 94GeV; charge zero; spin 1; decays to an electron plus positron, or a muon plus antimuon. Predicted by the Weinberg-Salam theory, it was discovered in 1983 in proton-antiproton collisions at CERN in Geneva.

A form of marker beacon radiating a narrow conical beam along the vertical axis of the cone of silence of a radio range.
Scheme linking photosystem II and photosystem I such that oxygen is produced by the former, NADP is reduced by the latter and ATP is generated by non-cyclic photophosphorylation by electron transport from PS II to PS I.
Symbol Az. Molecular mass measure giving greater emphasis to bigger polymer chains, usually obtained by sedimentation analysis in an ultracentrifuge. See molecular mass distribution
Variation of intensity of beam, producing varying intensity of brightness of trace.
Type of mixer for viscous polymer eg prepolymer and filler plus additives etc. Often involves two counter-rotating Z-shaped blades esp for dough moulding compound mixtures for composite products.
A form of duplex DNA, in which purines and pyrimidines alternate in a strand and which results in a left- handed helix.
