What is LUTEINIZING HORMONE?

A gonadotrophic mucoprotein hormone, secreted by the basophil cells of the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, which causes growth of the corpus luteum of the ovary and also stimulates activity of the interstitial cells of the testis. Also interstitial cell stimulating hormone. Abbrev LH.
