What is SCHMIDT TELESCOPE?

A wide-field optical telescope which uses a combination of spherical mirror, a Schmidt correction plate and a curved reflecting plate at the focus of the mirror to minimize spherical aberration and coma. Used in extensive sky surveys. See panel on Astronomical telescope.
