What is 10 BASE T?

Ethernet IEEE 802.3 standard for Local Area Networks. It uses twisted-pair cable with maximum lengths of 100 meters. System operates at 10 Mbps and uses baseband transmission methods. 10Base-T cables connect with RJ-45 connectors. It is also known as Twisted Pair Ethernet.

10 BASE T: "Number "10" in the 10BASE-T refers to the transmission speed in Mbit/s, while letter "T" designates twisted pair cable."
