Genetic disorder that affects the body's ability to fight infection due to lack of one or more subclasses of immunoglobulins in the serum. X-linked type (called Bruton syndrome) is especially serious due to complete lack of mature B cells and antibodies in the blood; these patients are prone to serious and even fatal infections.
