A mathematical function which describes the wave-like behavior of electrons in an atom. It can calculate the probability of finding electron in any specific region around the atom's nucleus. Each orbital is characterized by a unique set of values of the three quantum numbers: n (electron's energy), ? (angular momentum) and m (angular momentum vector component).
What is ATOMIC ORBITAL?
ATOMIC ORBITAL: "Atomic orbitals are essential components of the atomic orbital model, used to visualize the submicroscopic behavior of electrons in matter."
