What is CENTRIPETAL ACCELERATION?

Acceleration which is aimed toward the center of a path's curvature and possessed by a body traveling along that curved path at a constant speed. Equation is v2/R, where v is the constant speed and R represents the radius of the curvature.

CENTRIPETAL ACCELERATION: "Centripetal acceleration is responsible for a satellite maintaining an elliptical orbit."
