What is ONYCHOPHORA?

A subphylum of Arthropoda having trachea; a soft thin cuticle; body wall consisting of layers of circular and longitudinal muscles; head not marked off from the body, and consisting of three segments, one preoral, bearing preantennae and two postoral bearing jaws and oral papillae respectively; a pair of simple vesicular eyes; all body segments similar, each bearing a pair of parapodia-like limbs which end in claws and containing a pair of excretory tubules; spiracles scattered irregularly over the body; cilia in the genital region; development direct, eg the genus Peripatus.
