What is PASTEURELLOSIS?

The group name for diseases caused by organisms of the genus Pasteurella. Pasteurella multocida causes an acute septicaemic and pneumonic disease in several species of animals. Vaccines widely used. See fowl cholera fowl, haemorrhagic septicaemia cattle and sheep, rabbit septicaemia rabbit, swine plague pig.
