Main forms are those in which: 1 a static increasing pull is applied to a specimen until fracture results; from this a stress-strain curve may be plotted and the Young's modulus, proof stress, yield point, ultimate tensile stress and elongation determined: 2 a dynamic load is applied giving data on fatigue and impact: 3 a constant load is applied and the increasing deformation with time recorded tensile creep test.
